China Kitchen restaurant to open this summer

Jason Chen, who owns the Rice Kitchen restaurant at 811 W. Michigan Ave. in Kalamazoo and the Empire Chinese Buffet at 6225 S. Westnedge Ave. in Portage, plans to open the China Kitchen restaurant in late June or early July at 4315 W. Main St. in Kalamazoo. More >

Ping-pong hotel to open in China

A hotel in the shape of a giant ping-pong racket is to open in an east Chinese city, reports the China Daily.

The hotel, to open in the city of Huainan in the Anhui province, will be 150m tall and shaped like a giant upside down table tennis racket. The ‘handle’ at the top will act as a sightseeing area for guests to glimpse views over the city, whilst the ‘ball’ located in front of the main building will act as a conference centre. More >
